Supporting seafarers’ mental health at sea by staying connected
As Samaritans Awareness Day approaches at the end of July, MIMO Connect wants to take a moment to recognise the incredible resilience of seafarers around the world. Whether you're an ETO, AV/IT, or part of the hardworking crew, we know that life at sea is no easy journey.
Long hours. Demanding conditions. Weeks or even months away from family and friends. These are the realities many of you face every day. And while the ocean may be vast, the feeling of isolation can sometimes feel even bigger.
Mental health matters at sea
Mental health is just as important as physical safety onboard. The pressures of the job, combined with limited access to support networks, can take a toll. That’s why awareness days like this one are so vital, they remind us that “it’s okay to not be okay”, and that help, and support should always be within reach.
At MIMO Connect, we believe that connectivity is more than just a service, it’s a lifeline. A video call with your kids. A message from home. A moment of laughter shared with loved ones. These small connections can make a world of difference to your wellbeing.
Our commitment to you
We’re proud to support the mental health and wellbeing of seafarers by making affordable, reliable connectivity a reality. We know that AV/ITs and ETOs are often the unsung heroes behind the scenes, working tirelessly to keep systems running smoothly. We see you and we’re here to make your job easier.
Our mission is simple: to keep you connected, wherever you are in the world. Because when you’re connected, you’re not alone.
Let’s keep the conversation going
This Samaritans Awareness Day let’s continue to break the silence around mental health at sea. Check in with your crewmates. Reach out if you’re struggling. And remember, support is always just a message away.
From all of us at MIMO Connect, thank you for everything you do.
